A diamond certification is a written report of an assessment made on a diamond by an independent organisation. Certifications for Lab Grown diamonds and Natural diamonds are most commonly completed by IGI and GIA respectively however they will each analyse both origins of diamond. The assessing organisation's sole purpose is the assessment of gemstones, and has no bearing on the sales process of a diamond or jewellery.
Most diamonds will be supplied with a diamond grading report, and the certificate number can be used at any time online to retrieve an electronic copy of the report.
